Weekapaug Inn is a historic inn at 25 Spray Rock Road in Westerly, Rhode Island. In 1899 Phoebe and Frederick C. Buffum built the original Weekapaug Inn. The inn was built on a strip of land between the Quonochontaug Pond and the Atlantic Ocean in the community of Weekapaug, Rhode Island. In 1938 the original Weekapaug Inn was destroyed by the famous hurricane of that year, however the following year they rebuilt the inn, designed by Ralph Doane, across the pond and it reopened in 1939.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=NRHP nomination for Weekapaug Inn )〕 The Buffum family ran the inn for the next 108 years until it closed for renovations in 2007.〔http://weekapauginn.com/about/history/〕 Also that year, the Weekapaug Inn was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.〔 In 2010 Weekapaug Rhode Island residents Langdon Wheeler and Charles Royce purchased the property with plans to restore the inn while keeping it as closely identical to the original inn as possible.〔http://lhonline.com/topstory/oceanhouse_resort_management_renovations_salesmarketing_0814/〕 The Weekapaug Inn is due to reopen on October 7, 2012. The Weekapaug Inn originally had 67 rooms which were converted to 27 guest rooms and 4 Signature Suites and much of the furniture and furnishings from the original inn have been saved, restored, and reused.〔http://weekapauginn.com/furniture/〕 The inn will now offer seasonal recreation such as boating, fishing, bocce ball, shuffleboard, and rumored to be planning classic New England clam bakes during summer seasons.〔http://weekapauginn.com/recreation/〕 There is also a naturalist, Westerly RI resident Mark Bullinger, working with the inn leading and organizing recreation activities and information on surrounding areas and wildlife.〔http://weekapauginn.com/recreation/meet-our-naturalist/〕 ==See also== *National Register of Historic Places listings in Washington County, Rhode Island 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Weekapaug Inn」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
